Motion and dimensions of the hurricane.

These data were estimated by father Viņes (Op. cit.) who calculated a radius from 10 to 12 leagues (40-50 km) for the area of maximum winds, and some 75 (300 km) to the radius of the area of the destructive winds (probably superior to the category of tropical storm).

Based on the observations made of the vortex calm, he calculated the speed of the meteor in about 5 km/h or 6 km/h, considering that the calm took place at 22 hr 30 min. of the day 7 at Nueva Paz and in Matanzas at 3 hr 30 min. of the 8.
