AUTOMATED SYSTEM FOR SUGGESTING AND UPDATING  NAUTICAL ROUTES ACCORDING TO METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS

Abstracts

An automatic software system is presented for the initial scheduling and updating of nautical routes as a function of meteorological conditions prevailing during the journey. Besides wave height and wind speed and direction, climatic streams are taken into account. Calculus stages and algorithms employed on each one are described, and sample routes are shown, where reported timing and distances are compared to those calculated by the system.
