Abstract

The Club Habana installations are located at the coast of Havana City 10 km far from the center. At present Club Habana´s beach is found in exempt erosion process that is evidence by the rocky surfaces appearance and the scarce sand presence in the coast. The objective of this study is to establish the basic parameters for the regeneration of the beach of the Club Habana. The investigations carried out allowed to confirm the erosive effect that is intensified by the presence of rigid structures obstructing the free movement of the sand along the profile of beach. The demolition of the longitudinal walls as main proceeding, that implicates the elimination of 500 m3 of concrete, and the artificial feeding of sand to the beach with the nourishment of 15 000 m3, is proposed for the regeneration of the beach. For the location of the borrow bank of sand was accomplished a search in all the coastal north of The Havana and as a result the sand will be extracted from two bodies found in Nautico's zone, it located at 2 Km of Club Habana.
